Service Description

Earn qualifications towards becoming a nationally certified sea kayak day guide with Canada's premiere sea kayak guide training provider, Sea Kayak Instruction and Leadership Systems in partnership with Candlebox Kayaking! We're proud to be the only provider of Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC training in Nova Scotia. This training is also designed for recreational paddlers looking to gain experience and skills for self guided sea kayak day tripping. Experience includes: - 7 days sea kayak skills training with SKILS and Candlebox Kayaking's experienced, highly certified, expert instructors - Paddling in beautiful Kejimkujik National Park and Nova Scotia's South Shore - High quality safety equipment including drysuits by Kokatat (on first come/first served basis), helmets, spray skirts, tow lines, PFD's - On land and on water navigation training using charts and compass, and in-depth risk assessment/mitigation training (weather, tides, sea state, preparedness, equipment, etc.) - SKILS Guide Manual - Copy of "Navigation, Sea State, and Weather - A Paddlers Manual" - Copy of "Sea Kayak Touring & Leadership Manual" - Access to online classroom in the weeks leading up to the training - 2 extra days of Paddle Canada Level 2 skills training with Candlebox Kayaking (June 1st/2nd) Time: Meet at 8:30am the first day of the training (June 1st) at Summerville Beach Provincial Park, 7499 Lighthouse Rte #3, Port Mouton, NS Cost: $975+tax Visit candleboxkayaking.com/bookings to reserve your spot.

Cancellation Policy

All courses run at the discretion of instructors (mostly according to the weather). We do our best to provide instruction suitable to the conditions. We require 30 days notice for cancellation(s) of courses (excluding SKGABC guide training which is 75 days). Cancellations must be made via E-mail to info@candleboxkayaking.com. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any clinics or trips due to weather or insufficient registration. We do our best to reschedule. If any participant experiences symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to training, the participant must cancel. We're happy to provide full credit to attend the same or similar training at a later date. If you cannot make it to a training location due to transportation disruptions or travel restrictions, we are pleased to provide a full credit for the same or similar training. As all outdoor activities involve risk, we recommend you obtain any personal, medical, and/or cancellation insurance that you may deem appropriate. Thanks.
