Service Description

This course provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Beginner River Kayak skills course. A Beginner River Kayak Instructor is certified to: - Conduct Paddle Canada Beginner River Kayak Skills training and to certify paddlers at that level - Conduct Paddle Canada Flatwater Kayak Skills training and to certify paddlers at that level - Conduct Paddle Canada Recreational River Kayak Skills training and to certify paddlers at that level Prerequisites: - At least 18 years of age. - Membership: Current Paddle Canada membership and provincial paddling organization membership - Certification: Paddle Canada Intermediate River Kayak Skills certification - First Aid: Current certification in first aid (14 hours) with CPR highly recommended - Instructor experience: None. - Rolling ability: The ability to consistently roll a kayak in class 1 moving water on one side. - Safety training: Swiftwater recuse training recommended If you paddle moving water (slow moving rivers up to class 1) and are a leader/guide this training is a must. Cost: $695/person+tax (does not include Paddle Canada instructor membership - $99.99+tax) Please book at least 48hrs in advance. We do our best to accommodate last minute bookings.

Cancellation Policy

All courses and tours run at the discretion of instructors and guides (mostly according to the weather). We do our best to provide instruction/tours suitable to the conditions. We require 30 days notice for cancellation(s) of courses (excluding SKGABC guide training which is 75 days) and 48hrs notice for cancellations of tours. For cancellations a full refund less a 20% administration fee will be issued. Our cancellation policy must apply even in the event of a medical problem or family circumstance. We will do everything possible to fill your vacant spot for you. In the case of a Force Majeure, such as but not limited to acts of terrorism, war, pandemics, labour disputes, government actions, strikes, or major adverse weather conditions, all terms and conditions may be subject to change. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any clinics or trips due to weather or insufficient registration. In these cases, full refunds will be issued and we will do our best to reschedule. We do our best to reschedule. If any participant experiences symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to training, the participant must cancel. We're happy to provide full credit to attend the same or similar training at a later date. If you cannot make it to a training location due to transportation disruptions or travel restrictions, we are pleased to provide a full credit for the same or similar training.
