Service Description

Kick off the 2026 season with precision and play! Our first Whitewater Dojo clinic of the year is designed to shake off the winter rust and sharpen your technical edge. Whether you're looking to master the art of the ferry or finally nail that eddy peel out, the "Dojo" provides a focused, high-repetition environment to refine your blade work and boat control under the guidance of our pros. Step into the Dojo and elevate your paddling game. This clinic moves beyond the basics, focusing on the "martial arts" of kayaking: technical strokes, edge control, and reading the water with intent. You’ll practice maneuvers in a structured setting that builds confidence for the season ahead, ensuring your first runs of 2026 are your strongest yet. Training includes: 1 day of intensive technical coaching with Candlebox Kayaking’s expert, highly certified instructors. Premium equipment: Access to the latest kayaks by Jackson Kayak, Werner paddles, and Kokatat drysuits (available first-come, first-served). Targeted Skill Sessions: Focused drills on the Medway or LaHave rivers, tailored to the group’s goals. What people are saying: "I had the best experience with Candlebox Kayaking! I was excited to try white water kayaking but definitely a bit hesitant at first. Matt and Lukas's clear instruction and demonstrations, coupled with their contagious enthusiasm and obvious mastery of the sport, immediately put me at ease and ensured I came away from the experience with new skills and confidence as well a memory that will last a life time! My only point of caution is that there is a very high chance that following your experience with Candlebox Kayaking you will be hooked on a new water sport and shopping for new gear :) I would recommend Candlebox Kayaking to anyone without hesitation." Stef, Google Review Location: Medway River (Greenfield, NS) or LaHave River (Bridgewater, NS) – Final location confirmed based on water levels. Booking: Please book at least 48 hours in advance. Gear Provided: Everything you need to stay warm and perform: Kayak, paddle, PFD, sprayskirt, throw bag, helmet, drysuit (first-come, first-served), gloves, and neoprene booties.
